North Muskegon Public Schools 1600 Mills Avenue North Muskegon, MI 49445 March, 2026 Dear North Muskegon Public Schools Family, Beginning the week of March 16, 2026, students and staff will have the opportunity to take a School Climate Survey. Parents and Guardians can also give their thoughts by completing their version of a climate survey. The parent/guardian survey will close on Friday, March 27 2026. The information we gather from these surveys will inform our NM School Improvement Teams on how our school community is doing and how we might respond to the information collected by establishing goals aligned to our Strategic Plan. These surveys are part of a grant and supported through a current partnership between North Muskegon Public Schools and the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District. The information collected from this survey is anonymous as participants are unable to be identified. Some important information about the student survey: This survey does include optional demographic questions. All participants can choose "I prefer not to answer" to any or all demographic questions. If you would like to review this survey, please see the link below. This survey was developed by the OSEP National Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and is used by school districts throughout the United Stages, Michigan, and Muskegon County. If you prefer to have your student/s opt out of taking the survey at the school, we will provide an alternate activity in a discreet way, along with the students who have previously chosen to opt out of surveys. If you want your student/s to opt out, please call the office secretary or email me at jkvanbergen@nmps.net. Thank you for helping us make our district even better for all students, staff, and families! Sincerely, Julie VanBergen Director of Positive Behavior Initiates and Support
