City of North Muskegon E-Bikes & E-Scooters Safe Riding Rules The new city ordinance was designed to help keep e-bike and e-scooter operators, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists safe throughout the community. WHERE CAN THEY BE USED? Local Roads, Bike paths, including: Fred Meijer Berry Junction Trail, Lake Avenue Bike Path, Lakeshore Bike Path  SAFETY RULES: 15 MPH maximum on City bike paths, Ride at a reasonable and safe speed for conditions, Stay to the right while on the roadway, Follow all Michigan and City traffic laws, Use basic safety equipment provided by the manufacturer  UNDER 15? REGISTRATION REQUIRED Operators under age 15 must register their e-bike or electric scooter with the City before operating on roadways. A parent or legal guardian must co-sign the application and meet with the police department prior to operation.
