Fun Fridays. A little playtime. A lot of community! Calling All DK - 1st grade parents! Come play with us! Remember when making a new friend was as simple as playing a game together on the playground? Let's bring a little more of that magic to our youngest Norsemen! Join us for Fun Fridays - a special once-a-month opportunity for parents to join their children during recess, play games, meet their classmates, and help build the friendships that make our school feel like a community. Your child gets to show their school world, you get to know the kids they spend their days with, and everyone gets a little extra fun at recess! The best part? All you have to do is show up! No planning. No supplies to buy. No experience needed! We'll prove the activities and supplies. One month we might play Four Square, another month we might bring out bubble wands, or we might have another fun surprise waiting on the playground. Your job? Jump in, play along, cheer the kids on, and enjoy being part of their day! Can't stay for both recesses? No problem! Sign up for one or stay for both. Every extra set of helping hands, and every smiling face, makes a difference. A few things to know: A completed background check is required before volunteering. Please leave student photos off social media and avoid taking or sharing photos of students. If a student is hurt, upset, or needs help following expectations, please alert our playground support staff. They will continue their usual duties while you focus on having fun with the kids. Weather happens! Recess may move indoors due to rain, extreme cold, or other conditions. Decisions may be made at the last minute. Save A Friday to Play! October 23, November 20, December 11, January 29, February 26, March 26, April 23, May 21. Choose your recess: Kindergarten/1st Grade: 12:30 - 12:55 pm, DK: 12:55 - 1:35 pm. You can volunteer for one recess or both! First come, first serve! We're hoping to have 4-8 parents for each recess, so spots will fill quickly! Help us make our school a place where everyone belongs! You don't have to organize an event or commit to every month to make a difference. Sometimes, all it takes ia an adult willing to play, a child feeling included, and a few extra minutes spent getting to know one another.
